                                                    Hailstorm
The inhabitants of the capital on Wednesday evening experienced a spell (অল্প সময়ের জন্য) of hailstorm,  bringing them much relief from the heat wave of the last couple of days.

Hailstorm (শিলা  rain )with gusty wind hit different parts of the capital including Badda, Baridhara, Bashundhara, and Gulshan areas.
The wind speed was 10 km/h. It was soon follow by heavy showers that caused water logging in different parts of the capital, creating panic among the pedestrians. Homebound people were seen waiting for long hours for  vehicles to reach their desired destinations. Pedestrians suffered a lot as the movement of the vehicles was hampered due to water logging.

                          Lightning
Seven people were killed and six others injured in separate incidents of lightning strikes (gerund + singular ) in five districts on Wednesday. In Rajbari, three farmers were killed by lightning in different villages of  Goalanda, Baliakandi and Kalukhali Upazilas in the morning. The deceased (মৃত) were identified as Zakir Hossain, a farmer and son of Habi Sheikh of Debgram union in Goalanda Upazila, Murad Sheikh of Natunchar village in Baliakandi Upazila and Kurman Mandal of Bohorkalukhali village in Kalikhali Upazila.
In Narayanganj, a dredger (ঝালা) worker and a resident of Fatullah, was killed by lightning in Fatullah Launch ghat area near the Buriganga River. The victim was identified as Kawsar, 25.
Cumulonimbus,( পুঁজমেঘ) from the Latin cumulus ("heap") and nimbus ("rainstorm", "storm cloud"), is a dense towering vertical cloud  associated with thunderstorms(ঝড়বৃষ্টি) and atmospheric instability, forming  from water vapor carried by powerful upward air currents. Cumulonimbus can form alone, in clusters, or along cold front squall (শিলা rain এর আওয়াজ )lines. These clouds are capable of producing lightning and other dangerous severe weather, such as tornadoes. Cumulonimbus progress from overdeveloped cumulus (ঘনঘটা) congests clouds and may further develop as part of a super cell. Cumulonimbus is abbreviated Cb and are designated in the D2 family.
Coalescence (মিলন) is the process by which two or more droplets(ফোঁটা), bubbles(বুদবুদ) or  particles (কণা)  merge  during contact to form a single daughter droplet, bubble or particle. It can take place in many processes, ranging (ছোটো )from meteorology (আবহবিদ্যা) to   astrophysics(নভোবস্তুবিদ্যা). For example, it is seen in the formation of raindrops as well as planetary (অস্থিরমতি) and star formation. In meteorology, its role is crucial in the formation of rain. As droplets are carried by the updrafts and downdrafts in a cloud, they
collide (ধাক্কা লাগা)and coalesce  (সমবেত হত্তয়া)to form larger droplets. When the droplets become  too large to be sustained (টেকসই)on the air currents, they begin to fall as rain. Adding to this  process, the cloud may be seeded with ice from higher altitudes (উচ্চতা), either via the cloud tops reaching −40 degreesCelsius/Fahrenheit, or via the cloud being seeded by ice from cirrus (আকর্ষ) clouds
